Danny Boy & The Professor
Like a lot of musicians, we have an attitude about places like GC, the fast food outlets for musical instruments these days. They move a lot of product and move it cheap, but we believe there’s a lot more to it than that. We not only wanted to be the ANTI GC and the horse it rode in on; we wanted to be FOR something worthwhile, something that actually matters to musicians (from beginner to expert). If you need an instruction book, the right kind of slide and other relevant accessories, we want to be the right place for you to come. With a combined 70 years in the music business at many levels and in numerous aspects of it, we believe we have the right attitude and perspective to provide a store that carries products that will carry you along in your hobby or career, whichever the case may be.
The Professor is the guy that knows all about the music books, instruction, theory, arrangements and other high falutin’ stuff about music. He even writes horn charts. He’s been teaching guitar for over thirty years, as well as playing gigs whenever it can be arranged.
Danny Boy is more instinctive, having played in all kinds of rootsy bands over the last three decades. He has a tendency for more diverse reading as well – lots of crime fiction and biblical stuff, which at times he claims are hard to tell apart. He’s also an award winning songwriter and still plays a lot of gigs.
It’s a very long and mildly interesting story as to how these guys ended up in business together; lots of publishers are currently in the running for the rights to tell that story to the masses. Briefly, the philosophies are similar when approaching music and business, and it is their sincere desire that this will be beneficial to all the groovy cats out there that want to strut the right stuff and strut their stuff right.
So take your time and have an enjoyable experience on our online store. Tell us what’s here that you like; tell us what’s not here that you don’t like. We want to provide the kind of books and music joint that we’d like to hang out in. We’re even willing to rely on the feedback of customers to help us do just that.
