Detroit Area Guitar, Keyboard, and Music Theory Instruction Jeffrey Ball has been playing and teaching in the Detroit area for 30 years. After studying with Jazz guitarist Al Korinek, Jeffrey majored in music at Eastern Michigan University, studying guitar with Charles Postlewate, theory with Sylvan Kalib, and vocal music with O. Blaine Ballard. Later studied Jazz piano with Detroit pianist Matt Michaels. Special areas of interest in Jeffrey's teaching are: Jazz Rock Blues and Classical Styles - Bridging the gap between university/classical music theory and jazz and popular music - Understanding music theory and utilizing it in your playing - Scale/Chord Connections - Sight Reading |
